Te Whaitipu Counselling is a charitable trust that provides counselling services to improve the wellbeing of tamariki/children, whanau/families and individuals.
We are calling for expressions of interest from any qualified counsellors in the Mid North of Te Tai Tokerau who may be seeking their next counselling role. Hours and days of work can be negotiated.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced counsellor, either currently NZAC or NZCCA registered or working towards registration. Ideally you will have counselled both adults and children who have been challenged by such issues as:
- Sexual harm or family violence
- Relationship dysfunction or breakdown
- Anxiety, low mood, trauma, or grief
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have demonstrated counselling skills and experience across all cultures
- Be committed to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Have advanced communication, time management and computer skills

Te Whaitipu Counselling is seeking additional Board Trustees to join our governance group.
We are a charitable trust with more than 35 years’ experience providing professional counselling in the Mid North area of Te Tai Tokerau Northland.
The Trust Board governs Te Whaitipu Counselling to deliver on its Mission and ensure it is meeting the expectations of our funders. The role of a Trustee is a voluntary position.
Successful Trust Board Member candidates will have:
- Proven experience in governance and strategy
- The ability to act in good faith, with honesty and integrity
- Knowledge of the diverse communities we serve
- Time and flexibility to attend a minimum of four Board meetings a year
- Ideally, sector knowledge in the prevention of sexual violence and family harm
